Ani Tajirian, MD

Dr. Ani Tajirian is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon who was born and raised in the East Bay. Dr. Tajirian exhibited a passion for medicine from a young age, and was accepted to and attended Brown University’s Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME), a combined eight-year undergraduate and medical program. She graduated with a B.A. in Human Biology and subsequently her Medical Degree. During her undergraduate studies, she also studied at the Sorbonne in Paris, pursuing her passion for the French language and art history. Dr. Tajirian went on to complete her residency in dermatology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where she was elected Chief Resident in her final year. She then completed a fellowship in Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery (removal, pathology, facial reconstruction including flaps/grafts), laser surgery and cosmetic dermatology at the University of Vermont.

In addition, Dr. Tajirian has completed cosmetic preceptorships in Los Angeles and New York focused on cosmetic fillers and Botox®, and is one of the few physicians in the area to do full face and neck fractionated CO2 resurfacing. Dr. Tajirian is fluent in Armenian and volunteers extensively in Armenia with her mentor, Dr. Christine Avakoff, training doctors, seeing patients and facilitating equipment donations. She is proud to have helped open the first clinic in Armenia that treats children and infants with hemangiomas and port-wine stains. Dr. Tajirian has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, authored several textbook chapters, and lectured at national conferences.
