Ani Tajirian, MD
Ani Tajirian, MD, FAAD, FACMS, is double board-certified in dermatology and Mohs micrographic dermatologic surgery. She is the only board-certified Mohs surgeon operating in Oakland, CA. Having performed over 5,000 Mohs surgeries since 2012, Dr. Tajirian is one of the most experienced Mohs surgeons in the East Bay and enjoys serving the community where she grew up.
Dr. Tajirian exhibited a passion for medicine from a young age and attended Brown University’s Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME), a combined eight-year undergraduate and medical program, directly out of high school. She graduated with a B.A. in Human Biology and subsequently her M.D. During her undergraduate studies, she also studied at the Sorbonne in Paris, pursuing her passion for the French language and art history. Dr. Tajirian went on to completeher residency in dermatology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where she was elected Chief Resident in her finalyear. She then completed a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery at the University of Vermont, with extensive
training in the removal and pathology of skin cancer, facial reconstruction including flaps/grafts, laser surgery, and
cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Tajirian has completed cosmetic preceptorships in Los Angeles, New York and Paris focusing on fillers and Botox®, and is one of the few physicians in the area to do full face, neck and chest fractionated CO2 resurfacing. In addition, Dr. Tajirian is fluent in Armenian and volunteers extensively in Armenia, training doctors, treating patients and facilitating equipment donations. She is proud to have helped open the first clinic in Armenia that treats children and infants with hemangiomas and port-wine stains. Dr. Tajirian is passionate about staying current on new technologies and best practices and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, authored several textbook chapters, and lectured at national conferences.
